We are currently seeking highly qualified, certified secondary (6-12) English Language Arts teachers that would provide online, synchronous instruction to students who attend our partner schools.

Purpose of Job: English teacher certified in their content area who facilitates engaging projects and learning opportunities for students, collaborates with other staff members to support student achievement, and provides high quality feedback on student work. Synchronous (Live through Zoom) online teaching from 7:30am-12:30pm or 12:30-5:30pm EST Monday, Wednesday, and Friday is currently required for this position. This position will teach 6th, 7th, 8th and 9th grade English Language Arts classes.

Qualifications: Must have a Michigan secondary (6-12) English Language Arts teaching certification (BA/BX preferred) and deemed highly-qualified or be able to obtain reciprocity using another state's certification and requirements within 45 days of hire.

Location: 100% remote, must have a dedicated, quiet workspace with a reliable computer and internet connection. Company hours are based in the Eastern time zone.

• Understanding of multidisciplinary project-based learning
• Experience with engaging students in hands-on learning
• Skilled in interdisciplinary planning and collaboration
• Organized, reflective, participatory, and punctual
• Expertise with data-driven decision making to plan and improve instructional practices
• Experience in integrating technology into teaching (Zoom, Google, web-based games and apps, LMSes, etc.)
• Understanding and use of professional learning community interactions

Major Responsibilities And Duties: Highly qualified in their endorsement area (English Language Arts 6-12, Michigan BA/BX preferred), proficient in the use of technology to facilitate lessons, communication, grading and other productivity, and work collaboratively with colleagues to meet the needs of our students.

Job Description

As an online English teacher, your primary role will be to provide highly engaging lessons via Zoom for partner schools at the middle and high school level in the state of Michigan. You will be responsible for planning live lessons and grading student work using our pre-created project-based learning curriculum on the Centric LMS, as well as communicating with partner school staff, Centric staff, and students/families as needed. Adjacent instructional duties, such as holding online office hours, consulting on curriculum updates, etc., may be assigned.

Pay

This full-time position is paid $15,000-$21,000 annually based on experience with single person benefit coverage after 90 days.

Requirements

• Must have a state of Michigan secondary (6-12) English Language Arts teaching certification (BA/BX preferred), or be able to obtain the certification as an out-of-state applicant within 45 days of starting.
• Federal background check and fingerprinting are required.
