POSITION SUMMARY:

This role plays a pivotal part in championing the Milk Value Platform (MVP) implementation and education, equipping all plant employees with essential tools and knowledge. Together, we will cultivate a zero-loss work culture that prioritizes safety and product quality. ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS, DUTIES AND PERFORMANCE RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Partner with site leadership to drive improvement in all KPI measurements utilizing Focused Improvement, AM, UAM, and other MVP tools and processes. Partner with pillars across the site to ensure effective tools and processes for measuring results in all pillar areas.
• Create and maintain robust plant communication tools and processes across the facility for all MVP activity including daily review boards, measurement boards, team progress boards and charts, etc.
• Facilitate the development of the annual MVP work plans.
• Partner with the site Trainer to identify MVP training needs for the plant and to deliver training solutions on MVP tools and processes to address plant needs and to ensure pace and process rigor.
• Ensure all plant employees have opportunities for engagement and ownership in MVP programs and activities.
• Act as the champion and subject matter expert for Root Cause Analysis. Ensure all teams understand and continually drive to the root cause. Be involved with and lead troubleshooting and problem-solving exercises.
• Act as the subject matter expert for Early Management processes and tools and partner with the Early Management team to ensure excellence in project management.
• Partner with Operations to sustain daily review and communication process through continual coaching and auditing of daily review processes across the plant.
• Champion One Right Way initiatives, including education, center lining and rate-lock, standard work documents, and systems. Partner with the Trainer to ensure that One Right Way processes are followed and that documents are updated and trained out properly.
• Personally lead teams utilizing MVP processes
• Provide leadership and direction to all employees through direct and indirect leadership and coaching.
• Ensure the development of troubleshooting capabilities with all operators and maintenance personnel through teaching, coaching, and partnering on the use of MVP tools and processes.
• Partner with the Maintenance Department to develop preventive maintenance schedules and make decisions regarding emergency maintenance.
• Work with the plant Safety team to ensure complete application and measurement of MVP tools. Perform audits to ensure the Idaho Milk Products injury and near-miss review process is applied correctly for all safety incidents.
• Be available to work any time (i.e., nights and weekends) as required for trials and projects.
  

POSITION SPECIFICATIONS/QUALIFICATIONS:

Education:

• Required: A Bachelor's degree from a four-year college or university, OR a minimum of five years of related experience and/or training, OR an equivalent combination of education and experience.

Experience:

• A good understanding of Continuous Improvement/TPM methodology.
• Ability to operate with rigor and discipline when applying the methodology.
• Experience managing multiple locations.

Physical Requirements:

• Occasional ascending and/or descending of ladders and stairs using feet and legs and/or hands and arms on a regular basis. Body agility is emphasized.
• Walking: Moving about on foot to accomplish tasks, particularly for long distances on a regular basis.
• Repetitive motions: Substantial movements (motions) of the wrists, hands, and/or fingers.
• Standing: Particularly for sustained periods of time on concrete.
• Stooping: Bending body downward and forward by bending spine at the waist on a regular basis.
• Reaching: Extending hands and arms in any direction.
• Pushing: Using upper extremities to press against something with steady force in order to thrust forward, downward or outward.
• Pulling: Using upper extremities to exert force in order to draw, drag, haul or tug objects in a sustained motion.
• Kneeling: Bending legs at knee to come to a rest on knee or knees occasionally.
• Crouching: Bending the body downward and forward by bending leg and spine.
• Lifting: Able to lift up to 50lbs occasionally.
• Talking: Expressing or exchanging ideas by means of the spoken word. Includes activities in which they must convey detailed or important spoken instructions to other workers accurately, loudly, or quickly.
• The worker is subject to both environmental conditions: Activities occur inside and outside
• There is sufficient noise to cause the worker to shout in order to be heard above the ambient noise level.
• Subject to up to at least 92db's.

Equipment knowledge:

• Separators, UF, RO, NF Membrane systems, HTST, Evaporators, Dryers, Bagging and Bulk bagging equipment, Palletizer, Scales, CIP Systems, Miscellaneous Manufacturing Equipment, Personal Computer, Analytical Equipment, Phone, and hand tools.
