About the Job:

The Retention Consultant is the Crumdale lead for clients and brokers for retention purposes within the assigned market. Your focus is on spending time with clients and brokers in person to cultivate the relationship, address client needs, and selling annual renewal rate increases. You will be the trusted advisor and go-to partner for your clients and brokers, helping them navigate their employee healthcare program by offering strategic insights and ensuring an exceptional experience with Crumdale. This role is responsible for proactive management, retention, and operational excellence for assigned Crumdale clients and brokers. In this role you will execute the retention and renewal strategy for assigned clients, and in collaboration with the Regional Sales Director develop the service and growth strategy for assigned brokers.

Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Act as a key influencer and trusted advisor, cultivating strong, personal relationships with decision-makers and other key stakeholders
  • Define and execute a retention strategy for a defined book of employer accounts
  • Responsible for managing the annual renewal process for accounts, including preparation of renewal analysis, client presentations, and stewardship reports
  • Demonstrate the value of Crumdale's solutions and offer creative, proactive solutions to meet client needs
  • Establish yourself as the in-market face of Crumdale and first point of contact for major problems, issues, & challenges
  • Works directly with Account Managers and Account Service Coordinators to ensure that all aspects of account service run smoothly while maintaining oversight visibility to ensure seamless execution and swift resolution
  • Maintain a proactive and predictable schedule of live / virtual broker and employer account outreach to continually identify program success and areas of opportunity to improve value
  • Supports pursuit of new business opportunities through a team approach with in-market Regional Sales Director
  • Cultivate and build relationships with brokerage agencies and key stakeholders within the agencies
  • Providing prompt, accurate and courteous service to our insureds, producers and insurance company representatives
  • Responding to customer and trading partners' requests in a professional and timely manner

Requirements

Qualifications & Skills:

  • Excellent customer service skills with a high level of customer focus, motivation and follow-through
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment with excellent prioritization, project management, problem solving and time management skills
  • Works equally well autonomously or as part of a team
  • Resourceful and inquisitive
  • Excellent written and oral communication
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Outlook, PowerPoint, Word, Excel)
  • Strong analytical skills and the ability to pay attention to details

Education:

  • Bachelor's Degree required
  • 7-10 years' experience in an insurance company or carrier environment
  • Life, Accident & Health Insurance license
  • Self-Funded and carveout experience, strongly preferred
  • Proficiency in using Salesforce for effective customer relationship management
  • Strong understanding of underwriting profitability and loss principles within employer sponsored group health benefits

* Equivalent military service at E4 or higher is acceptable in place of a bachelor's degree

Travel Requirement:

  • Willingness to travel up to 40% (day trip) within assigned market
  • Willingness to travel up to 10% (overnight) within assigned market and / or to corporate office
