Key Responsibilities:
- Conduct research on dairy cattle nutrition, genetics, reproduction, and health to improve milk yield and quality.
- Develop and implement strategies to enhance animal welfare, farm productivity, and environmental sustainability.
Applying principles of animal nutrition and reproduction science to improve herd productivity.
- Analyze milk samples and herd data to monitor health and performance indicators.
- Collaborate with veterinarians and farm managers to address disease prevention and treatment strategies.
- Design feeding programs and recommend nutritional adjustments based on scientific findings.
- Stay updated with current trends and technological advancements in dairy science.
- Provide on-site consultation and training for dairy farm staff on best practices.
- Monitor regulatory compliance related to dairy production and animal welfare.
Required Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Animal Science, Dairy Science, Veterinary Science, or related field
- Strong knowledge of dairy cow physiology, nutrition, reproduction, and health.
- Experience in data analysis, lab work, and field research related to dairy production.
- Excellent communication skills for interacting with both scientific and non-scientific audiences.
- Proficient in using dairy management software and laboratory equipment.
Preferred Skills:
- Experience working directly with dairy farms or within the dairy industry.
- Familiarity with sustainable agriculture and environmental practices in livestock management.
- Strong problem-solving and critical thinking skills.
