SUMMARY
Canyon Ridge High School is seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic individual to join our athletic department as an Assistant Tennis Coach for the upcoming season. The ideal candidate will work closely with the Head Coach to develop and implement training programs, promote sportsmanship, and foster a positive team environment. This seasonal position offers an excellent opportunity to inspire young athletes and contribute to their development both on and off the court.
RESPONSIBILITIES
- Assist the Head Coach in planning and conducting daily practice sessions, drills, and team meetings.
- Provide individual and group instruction to improve players' skills and techniques.
- Help organize and supervise team activities, including matches, tournaments, and team-building events.
- Monitor players' performance and provide constructive feedback to enhance their growth.
- Promote a positive and inclusive team culture that emphasizes sportsmanship, teamwork, and respect.
- Assist in maintaining equipment and ensuring the tennis facilities are in good condition.
- Communicate effectively with players, parents, and school administration regarding team updates and expectations.
- Attend coaching clinics and workshops to stay current with tennis coaching strategies and best practices.
- Uphold all school and athletic department policies and regulations.
REQUIREMENTS
- Previous coaching experience or a strong background in competitive tennis.
- Knowledge of tennis rules, strategies, and training techniques.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to motivate and inspire student-athletes.
- Ability to work collaboratively with the Head Coach, players, and parents.
- Availability to work flexible hours, including evenings and weekends, during the tennis season.
- Current CPR and First Aid certification (or willingness to obtain).
- A high school diploma or equivalent; college-level education in sports management, physical education, or a related field is a plus.
- A passion for promoting youth athletics and fostering a positive athletic experience for all participants.
This is an "at will" position in that the employer or employee may terminate employment at any time for any reason consistent with applicable state or federal law. The employment "at will" policy cannot be changed verbally or in writing, unless the change is specifically authorized in writing and approved by the Board of Trustees of District 411.
All recommendations for hire are tentative offers. Employment is contingent upon board approval, and successful completion of a federal background check and drug-free workplace pre-employment screening.
