Summary
O'Leary Middle School is seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic individual to join our athletic department as a Boys Basketball Coach. This part-time position is ideal for someone passionate about mentoring young athletes and fostering a positive team environment. The coach will be responsible for developing players' skills, promoting teamwork, and ensuring a safe and supportive atmosphere for all participants.

Responsibilities
- Plan and conduct regular basketball practices, focusing on skill development, teamwork, and game strategy.
- Organize and oversee competitive games and tournaments, ensuring adherence to league rules and regulations.
- Develop and implement training programs tailored to the needs of individual players and the team as a whole.
- Foster a positive and inclusive team culture that encourages sportsmanship, respect, and personal growth.
- Communicate effectively with players, parents, and school administration regarding schedules, expectations, and player progress.
- Monitor and evaluate player performance, providing constructive feedback to facilitate improvement.
- Ensure the safety of all participants during practices and games, adhering to all school and athletic guidelines.
- Assist in the recruitment of players and promote the basketball program within the school community.
- Attend staff meetings and collaborate with other coaches and school personnel to enhance the athletic program.

Requirements
- Previous coaching experience, preferably at the middle school or youth level.
- Strong knowledge of basketball fundamentals, strategies, and rules.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to motivate and inspire young athletes.
- Ability to work flexible hours, including evenings and weekends, to accommodate practice and game schedules.
- First Aid and CPR certification is preferred; willingness to obtain certification if not currently held.
- A background check will be required prior to employment.
- Passion for youth sports and a commitment to fostering a positive athletic experience for all participants.
