South Hills Middle School is seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic individual to join our coaching staff as a 7th/8th Grade Assistant Wrestling Coach for the upcoming season. The ideal candidate will possess a passion for wrestling and a strong commitment to fostering a positive and supportive environment for student-athletes. This seasonal position offers an opportunity to mentor young athletes, enhance their skills, and promote teamwork and sportsmanship.
Responsibilities
- Assist the head coach in planning and implementing daily practice sessions, including skill development, conditioning, and strategy.
- Provide instruction on wrestling techniques, rules, and safety protocols to student-athletes.
- Support the head coach in preparing for competitions, including organizing travel arrangements and managing equipment.
- Foster a positive team culture by encouraging sportsmanship, respect, and cooperation among athletes.
- Monitor the academic progress and personal development of team members, promoting a balance between athletics and academics.
- Assist in maintaining a safe and organized practice environment, ensuring that all equipment is in good condition and that safety protocols are followed.
- Communicate effectively with athletes, parents, and school administration regarding team activities, schedules, and expectations.
- Attend all scheduled practices, competitions, and team meetings, contributing to the overall success of the wrestling program.
This is an "at will" position in that the employer or employee may terminate employment at any time for any reason consistent with applicable state or federal law.
