The Idaho Department of Fish and Game is hiring for an Office Services Supervisor 1. This position is responsible for managing the Magic Valley Regional offices front support staff work unit in Jerome.

Responsibilities
  • Supervise the IDFG Magic Valley Regional offices front support staff work unit, including hiring, performance evaluations, work assignments, professional development, and crisis management.
  • Ensure effective workflow, operational consistency, and integration of work units; manage daily operations such as accounts payable, budget monitoring, timesheet approval, and new employee orientation.
  • Provide administrative support to the Magic Valley Regional Supervisor and program leaders, and compose letters, correspondence, and memos requiring independent judgment.
  • Support enforcement officers with license and citation lookups and radio monitoring.
  • Coordinate arrangements for on?site and off?site meetings and conferences, including facilities, equipment, and minutes.
  • Assess office needs and recommend equipment, space, and staff requirements to management.
  • Provide customer service, including license sales, hunting and fishing information, and support for road kills, injured or orphaned animals, depredation problems, live traps, and pest advice.
  • Explain department services, policies, procedures, and rationale for decisions to customers; maintain office hours (MondayFriday 8:00?a.m.5:00?p.m.); occasional overnight travel may be required.

Minimum Qualifications
  • Good knowledge of office support functions, typically gained by at least one year of experience or equivalent coursework.
  • Some knowledge of supervisory practices gained through coursework or at least three months of lead work experience.
  • Experience interpreting, applying, and explaining complex information such as regulations, policies, or services, typically gained by at least one year of relevant work experience.
  • Experience independently solving problems and performing liaison activities to resolve conflicts in a work setting, typically gained by at least one year of relevant experience.
