Security Officer 2 (Part?time, Twin Falls, ID)

Under limited/moderate supervision, the Security Officer 2 is responsible for the safety and well-being of patients, visitors, staff, and hospital property. The role includes:

  • Conducting periodic tours of premises and grounds to verify that doors, windows, and gates are securely closed.
  • Guarding property against damage, fire, theft, trespassing, and illegal entry.
  • Controlling access to health?system facilities.
  • Applying de?escalation tactics when working with high?risk patients or visitors to limit harm.
  • Performing restrained patient handling as ordered by clinical staff within established parameters.
  • Responding to alarmsincluding baby alarms, elopements, hospital codes, fire drills, external and internal disasters, and lockdown procedures.
  • Investigating incidents, collecting data, and reporting security, safety, and fire hazards; maintaining a daily incident log.
  • Investigating disturbances/security breaches; serving as liaison with police; maintaining order during emergencies.
  • Preparing detailed incident reports.
  • Securing weapons and illicit drugs in accordance with policies and standards.
  • Collaborating with the care team for Designated Examiner evaluations of patients on involuntary hold.
  • Screening visitors and issuing visitor passes when appropriate.
  • Monitoring patient, visitor, and employee parking in garages, lots, and zones; enforcing parking regulations and issuing citations when necessary.
  • Compiling reports to leadership on ticket issuance, vehicle towing, and trends.
  • Handling moderately complex issues and referring more complex matters to higher?level staff.

Qualifications
  • High School Diploma or equivalent.
  • Minimum 2 years of relevant experience.
  • Valid driver's license (fleet vehicle). Must not have a record of certain driving?related offenses within the past three (3) years (e.g., license suspension, DUI, reckless or negligent driving).
  • Ability to maintain a valid, current driver's license and be subject to ongoing driving records checks.
  • A willingness to perform additional duties and responsibilities as assigned.
