Open to first-time travelers. Description: Department provides occupational therapy services. Average number of patients treated per day is 8 to 10. Only one therapist is assigned per day. Common diagnosis includes orthopedic cases, total joints, and neurological conditions such as strokes. Occasional cases of brain injuries are treated. This role involves acute inpatient and swing bed coverage. Therapists may float to other facilities if census is low. Experience with electronic medical records (EMR) software is necessary. The system used is Epic. Managerial oversight is provided during each shift. No rehabilitation aides or COTAs are staffed. Shifts are regular with no self-scheduling. Weekend and holiday coverage may be required based on demand. Scrubs are permitted but must not match the colors of other departments. Two to three days of unit-specific orientation are typically required for new staff. Four shift cancellations are allowed during the 13-week assignment.
