Job Description

As a Project Developer, you will support the full lifecycle of solar and energy storage projects, contributing from early-stage site identification and feasibility analysis through permitting, interconnection, financing, and NTP. You will conduct technical and commercial due diligence, coordinate with utilities and regulatory authorities, support financial and energy yield analyses, and assist with proposals and RFP responses.

Responsibilities

  • Support full project lifecycle: Assist in developing solar and energy storage projects from early-stage site identification and feasibility analysis through Notice to Proceed (NTP).
  • Conduct due diligence: Perform site evaluations, fatal flaw analyses, and feasibility assessments for new opportunities, including environmental, permitting, and interconnection considerations.
  • Manage interconnection process: Collaborate with utilities and engineering teams to secure grid connection approvals and maintain compliance with technical requirements.
  • Coordinate permitting and regulatory compliance: Interface with local, state, and federal authorities to obtain necessary permits and approvals for solar and storage projects.
  • Assist in project financial analysis: Support financial feasibility studies, energy yield assessments, and preparation of project budgets and schedules.
  • Prepare proposals and RFP responses: Contribute to business development efforts by drafting proposals, presentations, and supporting documentation for prospective customers and partners.
  • Stakeholder engagement: Communicate effectively with landowners, consultants, contractors, and internal teams to maintain positive relationships and ensure project success.
  • Support transaction processes: Assist with due diligence for project acquisitions and financing activities, including tax equity and debt transactions.
  • Cross-functional collaboration: Work closely with engineering, construction, and finance teams to ensure seamless transition from development to execution.
  • Maintain documentation and reporting: Track project progress, maintain data rooms, and prepare status reports for internal and external stakeholders.
Requirements:
  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Economics, Environmental Studies, or a related field.
  • PMP certification, MBA, or equivalent experience is considered an asset.
  • 3-5 years of experience in renewable energy development, with preference for those with experience in Community Solar or other grid connected systems.
  • Familiarity with solar PV, battery storage technologies, and permitting processes.
  • Strong project management capabilities with demonstrated organizational skills.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint); advanced Excel modeling skills are a plus.
