Compensation Overview

The annual base salary range provided for this position is a nationwide market range and represents a broad range of salaries for this role across the country. The actual salary for this position will be determined by a number of factors, including the scope, complexity and location of the role; the skills, education, training, credentials and experience of the candidate; and other conditions of employment. As part of our comprehensive compensation and benefits program, employees are also eligible for performance-based cash incentive awards.

Salary Range
$67,000.00 - $110,600.00

What Is the Opportunity?

The Benefits organization at Travelers oversees all company-wide employee benefit programs, including health and wellness, savings, retirement, and work-life across all countries we operate in. As a Sr Consultant of Benefits, you will be responsible for the coordination of retirement, wellness, and/or healthcare plans, programs, and initiatives for Canada.What Will You Do?

  • Involved in issue/escalation resolution within assigned program(s).
  • May manage services provided by outside benefit plan vendors.
  • Respond to escalated cases from Employee Services Unit.
  • Identify, recommend, and implement process improvements of benefits policies and procedures.
  • May review provided medical documentation to evaluate and determine approval period for family medical leave requests.
  • Coordinate communications updates to support programs across department.
  • May lead departmental projects, as needed.
  • Assist in formalizing recommendations for Senior Management.
  • Create detailed reports and presentations of benefits programs.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
What Will Our Ideal Candidate Have?
  • Bachelor's and/or associate degree or equivalent.
  • 4+ years of benefits related experience.
  • Experience with managing complex benefit programs.
  • Previous experience with Workday or similar HR Technology platform.
  • Customer service oriented, excellent verbal and written communication skills, results driven, excellent organization, and prioritization skills.
  • Excel, Word and related software package skills.
  • Strong attention to detail.
  • Strong analytical and organizational skills.
  • Thoroughly analyzes information and makes timely, practical decisions and recommendations.
  • Ability to interpret, validate and audit benefit enrollment and/or premium related data.
  • Works well in a team environment--establishes and maintains effective work relationships.
  • Highly ethical and can maintain confidentiality.
  • CEBS exams and designations.
What is a Must Have?
  • Minimum 3 years' experience in retirement, wellness, healthcare plans or related benefits field.
