Helper / Welding Assistant

Job Overview:
We are seeking a motivated, self-starting helper/welding assistant to join our team. You will assist with mobile welding repairs, fabrication, and fieldwork, often working independently. A clean driving record and the ability to operate company vehicles safely is required.

Schedule:

• Hours vary depending on workload
• Some weekday work past 6 PM required
• Winter hours: 8 AM - 6 PM
• Summer hours: 8 AM - varies depending on job and demand
• Occasional Saturday overtime during spring and summer

Experience / Skills Required:

• Pipe fitting and welding (stick & MIG; uphill welding a plus)
• Aluminum welding
• Stainless welding (helpful but not required)
• Equipment repair and fabrication
• Irrigation equipment fabrication (pump & pivot tie-ins)
• Operating a backhoe and forklift
• Strong knowledge of welding techniques and equipment
• Use of hand tools and power tools effectively
• Basic math for measurements and calculations

Responsibilities:

• Assist with mobile welding repairs and fabrication; 2 welding rigs available
• Load basic tools on company truck for mobile jobs
• Assist with farm equipment welding/repair (cracked frames, loader lift arms, mounts, etc.)
• Remove and replace bearings, shafts, and related components
• Maintain safety standards (safety glasses, grinder guards, etc.)
• Be punctual and dependable
• Operate forklift safely

Tools & Equipment:

• Most personal tools required: pipe wrap, wrenches (up to 2"), socket set, impact, welding clamps, levels, squares, etc.

Requirements:

• Valid driver's license and reliable transportation
• Pass drug/alcohol test
• Pass background check
• Clean driving record for insurability
• Bring current job references
• Work boots/shoes
