The Production & Inventory Control Specialist plays a critical role in supporting manufacturing execution and inventory accuracy. This position is responsible for performing inventory cycle counts, maintaining accurate inventory levels, supporting manufacturing scheduling and documentation to ensure accurate issuing, consumption and return of inventory to ensure on-time, compliant, and efficient production.
This role acts as a key link between Production, Supply Chain and Quality to ensure materials and information flow smoothly from receipt through finished good
High school diploma or equivalent required - college degree preferred. 13 years of experience in manufacturing, inventory control, production coordination, or supply chain. Experience in a regulated environment (nutraceutical, food, pharmaceutical, or similar) preferred. Basic understanding of inventory control principles and material flow. Comfortable working with ERP/MRP systems and Microsoft Excel. Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.

Production Support: Review and reconcile raw materials, components, and packaging for production orders. Track production progress and report status to Operations and Planning. Verify production counts, yields, and scrap in coordination with Production team. Support scheduling activities by ensuring material availability aligns with production plans.
Inventory Control: Maintain accurate inventory records in ERP system. Perform cycle counts and assist with physical inventories. Investigate and resolve inventory discrepancies, variances, and adjustments. Ensure proper inventory labeling, status control, and traceability (lot control, expiration dates). Coordinate with Quality on material holds, releases, and quarantines.
Compliance and Documentation: Ensure inventory and production activities comply with cGMP, food safety, and company SOPs. Maintain accurate, complete, and audit-ready documentation. Support internal and external audits as needed. Follow Good Documentation Practices (GDP) at all times.
Continuous Improvement: Lead and support Lean / CI initiatives to improve productivity, flow, and cost. Identify and eliminate waste, bottlenecks, and recurring inventory issues. Standardize best practices and improve process discipline. Cross-Functional Coordination: Communicate material shortages, risks, or delays to Supply Chain and Operations. Collaborate with Quality to ensure materials are approved and available for use. Work closely with warehouse and production teams to support efficient material flow.
