Job Description
Title: Design Engineer (Distribution)
Location: Remote (Excluding NY, CA, HI, CT, NJ, OR, MO)
Hire Type: Contract to Hire
Salary: $31-$32/hr
Benefits: Medical, dental, vision
Sterling Engineering is looking for a Design Engineer (Distribution). This opportunity is with a growing organization supporting utility and infrastructure projects.
Job Duties:
- Conduct preliminary design reviews and markup evaluations
- Support project scope, schedule, and deadline adherence
- Collaborate with team members while working remotely
- Mentor entry-level drafters and engineers as needed
- Interpret utility locates and incorporate into design work
- Ensure adherence to safety standards and proper PPE requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering from an ABET-accredited university
- Strong ability to work independently in a remote environment while maintaining communication with the team
- Understanding of project scope, scheduling, and deadlines
- Familiarity with utility locates
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint)
- Basic CAD and technical skills to support markups and redlines
