This position is ideal for someone who enjoys variety - splitting time between lifeguarding duties and swim instruction in a fun, fast-paced, team-oriented environment.

You'll work closely with fellow lifeguards, swim instructors, pool supervisors, and recreation staff, using sound judgment, strong communication, and teamwork to ensure patrons and participants have a safe and positive experience.

  • Perform preventive lifeguarding and enforce pool rules to ensure safety
  • Recognize signs of distress or unsafe behavior in the water
  • Administer first aid and assist with emergency response procedures
  • Assist with keeping the overall facility safe, clean, and orderly
  • Teach swim techniques, strokes, and water safety skills to participants of varying ages and abilities
  • Adapt lesson plans to meet individual needs and learning goals
  • Assess swimmer progress and provide clear, constructive feedback
  • Create a positive, supportive, and engaging learning environment
  • Work as part of a team to support pool operations and respond to emergencies
  • Communicate clearly and professionally with patrons, participants, parents, and staff
  • Listen to feedback and apply it to improve performance
  • Continue developing your skills as both a lifeguard and swim instructor
  • Perform related duties as needed
Pay
  • Lifeguard shifts: $13.00 - $15.00 per hour, depending on experience
  • Swim Instructor shifts:
    • $16.00 per hour for public lessons
    • $20.00 per hour for private lessons
Schedule
  • Seasonal position: May - September (with potential opportunity beyond summer)
  • 25-40 hours per week
  • Saturday and Sunday availability may be required
