The Senior Software Engineer develops, tests, and maintains applications using Python, Django, PostgreSQL, and Vue.js within our AWS-centric SaaS environment. While primarily focused on full-stack development, familiarity with DevOps practices supports efficient development and release processes.This role requires strong problem-solving skills and the ability to work across all aspects of a multi-tiered architecture. The ideal candidate is self-motivated, detail-oriented, adaptable, customer-focused, and eager to mentor team members. They identify areas for improvement and act on them. You will collaborate with engineers, managers, product management, and operations to deliver solutions that meet customer, business, and technical requirements.Key ResponsibilitiesDevelopment and ArchitectureDesign, develop, and maintain full-stack applicationsPerform code and design reviews with the development teamDevelop and maintain automated testing frameworksDesign and implement monitoring and alerting solutionsMonitor and remediate security vulnerabilities (dependency CVEs, infrastructure misconfigurations)DevOps and InfrastructureDesign and implement CI/CD pipelines and infrastructure automationManage release processes and develop release documentationEnsure team adherence to development and release best practicesManage and maintain Kubernetes clusters and containerized workloadsUpdate and maintain AWS infrastructure, including networking, security groups, and cloud resourcesCollaboration and ImprovementParticipate in Agile ceremonies and collaborate daily with the delivery teamTrack and improve developer experienceIntroduce new tools and practices to improve how the team builds and ships softwareMaster and help the team adopt AI-assisted development tools such as Claude Code and GitHRequired QualificationsBachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Mathematics, or related field (or equivalent experience)5+ years of professional software development experience3+ years of experience with AWSProficiency with Python, Django, PostgreSQL, and Vue.jsStrong SQL skills with ability to write complex queriesExperience with Git and version control workflowsExperience building REST APIs with Django REST Framework (DRF)Experience in Agile/Scrum environmentsStrong problem-solving, analytical, and communication skillsAbility to troubleshoot effectively under pressurePreferred QualificationsAWS certificationExperience with Docker, Kubernetes, and containerizationPostgreSQL performance tuningExperience defining and managing DevOps processesExperience with GitHub Actions or similar CI/CD toolsFamiliarity with Jira, Confluence, and reporting toolsEstimated Salary Range for this position: $114,000 to $152,000The base salary range represents the anticipated low and high end of the GHX's salary range for this position. The base salary is one component of GHX's total compensation package for employees.
