Ensures effective deployment of MDLZ risk based Food Safety management program from design to execution covering, Internal Manufacturers, External Manufacturers, Suppliers and Trade Mark Licensing agreements

How you will contribute

You will

  • Support BU's operation to Global Quality Policies and capture operational feedback to help keep them up to date

  • Deploy Food Safety programs in area of responsibility (BU/Category/Corporate)

  • Ensure Risk Assessment is employed as the key decision making approach for Product, Process and Package Design Safety

  • Risk-based Food Safety verification for Suppliers, internal/external plants and warehouses.

  • Support effective management of operational Food Safety challenges at factories including disposition decision making based on risk assessment and advice on risk management interactions with authorities.

  • Influence and partner with cross functional peers, effectively communicating how Food Safety supports our company values

  • Implement a Food Safety culture across the organization

What you need to know about this position:

  • Experience in food safety management, including HACCP, Food Safety Plans, and CCP/OPRP programs.

  • Knowledge of zoning, environmental monitoring, and allergen control within food manufacturing environments.

  • Strong problem-solving and analytical skills to identify risks and implement corrective actions.

  • Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.

  • Food safety risk, identification and management, HACCP and prerequisite controls, hygienic design

  • Knowledge of GMP, food allergens, pest control, sanitation, and food safety regulations

  • Excellent communication skills, with the ability to influence and educate cross-functional teams.

  • Ability to work independently and with cross-functional teams to ensure food safety standards are met.

  • Ability to work independently and take initiative with minimal direction.

  • Possess strong verbal and written communication skills, interpersonal skills to act as a liaison.

  • Possess problem solving skills.

  • Ability to prioritize work and meet required deadlines.

  • Ability to work with a team to meet goals.

Education / Certifications:

  • HS Diploma/ GED - Required

  • Bachelors Degree in related field- Preferred

  • 3 years of Leadership experience - Required

Job specific requirements:

  • Lead the development and implementation of the overall food safety program, setting objectives, establishing key performance indicators (KPIs), and driving continuous improvement.

  • Conduct comprehensive risk assessments to identify and prioritize food safety hazards, and develop strategies to mitigate them, including evaluating the impact of new products, processes, or regulations on the existing program.

  • Serve as a food safety expert, providing guidance and collaborating with cross-functional teams (production, quality, engineering, etc.) to ensure food safety is seamlessly integrated into all aspects of the business.

  • Develop and deliver comprehensive food safety training programs for all levels of employees, including specialized training on emerging trends, new regulations, and advanced risk mitigation strategies.

  • Support the internal audits of the food safety program, ensuring continuous compliance with regulations and standards. Additionally, manage responses to external audits and collaborate with regulatory agencies to ensure a high level of compliance, as required.

  • Develop and manage key food safety metrics, analyze data trends, and provide regular reports to leadership, identifying areas for improvement and demonstrating the impact of the food safety program.

Salary and Benefits:

The base salary range for this position is $86,900 to $119,515; the exact salary depends on several factors such as experience, skills, education and location. In addition to base salary, this position is eligible for participation in a highly competitive bonus program with possibility for overachievement based on performance and company results.
