Job Summary Ziegler CAT is seeking a Field Service Technician to install, troubleshoot, repair and maintain Caterpillar's Minestar suite of technology products on CAT mining equipment. The role supports customers around our Buhl location and requires frequent travel in a company truck.Responsibilities Perform troubleshooting and repair for all supported MineStar onboard products, including MineStar Fleet, Edge, Terrain, Health, Detect, and Command.Install MineStar technology systems in the field on existing and new machines.Understand and execute configurations related to MineStar technology and customer networks.Collaborate with Technical Support to develop and implement preventive maintenance programs, assist with training, and occasionally provide technical training.Exercise independent judgment to safely maintain and repair complex equipment and systems.Follow company safety policies, respond to customer needs promptly, and collaborate with other technicians as needed.Document work orders thoroughly and identify parts requirements for inventory management.Qualifications 2‑year technical college degree in electrical, mechanical, or related field, or high school diploma/GED with 2 years of comparable experience.3+ years of relevant experience in technology, electronics, or equipment repair, preferably with field experience.Strong interest in technology and electronics.Experience with CAT mining equipment; experience with CAT technology systems including MineStar, CAT Grade, or VisionLink preferred.Working knowledge of mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic systems.Ability to write and communicate effectively; interact with supervisors, customers, and team members.Basic computer skills for documenting work orders and using online diagnostic systems.Own mechanic tool set and ability to maintain a safe and clean work environment, including service truck.Willingness to respond to after‑hour emergency calls as directed.Clean driving record; must pass a DOT pre‑employment drug screen and physical; meet DOT safety requirements (DOT Medical card or ability to obtain).Class A CDL or willingness to obtain within a defined period.Minimum Physical Requirements: push/pull up to 50 lbs, lift/carry up to 60 lbs, and perform various physical tasks such as standing, walking, climbing, bending, kneeling, and reaching.Benefits Competitive pay $38.00 to $51.00 per hour.Health, Dental, Vision, and Life Insurance.15 days PTO in the first year, accrual starts day 1.9 paid holidays.401(k) plan with company contribution and match.Health Savings Account (HSA) with company contribution up to $1,000 tax‑free annually.Short‑Term and Long‑Term Disability Insurance.Flexible Spending Account (FSA) and Employee Assistance Program (EAP).Paid Parental Leave and Funeral Leave.Fitness membership discount.Education Assistance.Safety Boot Reimbursement, PPE, and Uniforms provided.Tool Insurance.Clean and friendly work environment.EEO Statement Ziegler Inc. will reasonably accommodate the known disabilities of qualified disabled individuals.
