Job SummaryCompletes all necessary maintenance and repairs on devices within the plant to lessen any disruptions in output levels.Essential FunctionsTroubleshoot and repair plant equipment and facilitiesPerform general and preventative maintenance to assure minimal downtimeMaintain proper records, files, and necessary parts and supplies for all plant equipment or make known to appropriate peopleMaintain all maintenance logs on assigned shiftEnsure that department is clean and orderly at end of shiftEnsure that company tools and equipment are maintained properlyActs an effective communication channel between management and maintenancePromote and exhibit strong safety practicesEnsures timely and proper completion of work ordersEach employee shall comply with occupational safety and health standards and all rules, regulations, and orders issued pursuant to the Occupational Safety and Health Act which are applicable to his/her own actions and conduct.Complies with all applicable food safety regulations and mandates (Safe Quality Foods, Food and Drug Administration, Pasteurized Milk Ordinance)Perform other duties as assignedAdditional FunctionsRegular and timely attendance requiredQualificationsMust be proficient in 2 competencies (electrical, welding, utilities, industrial mechanic, process understanding, instrumentation)Working knowledge of dairy processing equipment and plant facilitiesPhysical ability to perform assigned jobSelf motivated, willing to accept responsibility, and make good decisionsMust have own hand tools and knowledge of proper useWorking knowledge of pneumatics, hydraulics, instrumentation, boilers, etc.Requires skills in welding, electrical, troubleshooting, and maintenance & repair of all plant equipmentKnowledge of OSHA safety requirements for a manufacturing operationAbility to operate (or learn to operate) necessary equipmentExcellent record required in safety, attendance, and punctualityAbility to stand and walk the entire shift if neededAbility to read and write instructions in EnglishKnowledge of the proper use of all cleaning chemicalsMust be able to work weekends and overtime as requiredBecome Respirator Certified if physically possibleAble to be forklift certifiedBecome Confined Space CertifiedKnowledge of basic computer skillsPhysical DemandsThe physical demands described represent those that must be met by an employee and the work environment characteristics are those an employee encounters while performing the essential functions of this job.
