Description:

You'll make a difference by:Design Development: Create ideas and refine designs for power distribution equipment, including switch devices, switchgear, and circuit breakers, ensuring optimal performance and reliability.Technical Analysis: Conduct simulations and analyses to evaluate design feasibility and performance, using software tools such as NX and Teamcenter and electrical simulation programs.Prototyping and Testing: Direct the prototyping and testing phases, analyzing results to validate designs and make necessary adjustments to meet performance criteria.Documentation: Prepare detailed documentation of design processes, test results, and project reports to support compliance and future development efforts.Collaboration: Work closely with international cross‑functional teams, including manufacturing, quality assurance, and product management, to ensure seamless project execution and integration.Continuous Improvement: Stay updated on industry trends, emerging technologies, and regulatory changes to enhance design processes and product offerings.Innovative Solutions: Identify and implement innovative design approaches and technologies to enhance product functionality, efficiency, and sustainability.Sub‑Project Management: Lead project timelines, budgets, and resources, ensuring successful completion of design initiatives and alignment with strategic objectives within the assigned tasks.Documentation and Reporting: Prepare comprehensive documentation, including design specifications, test reports, and project updates for stakeholders.You'll win us over by having the following qualifications:Basic Qualifications:Bachelor's degree or higher in electrical or mechanical engineering.3+ years of experience in R&D and design roles, specifically in power distribution or electrical equipment.Ability to be on‑site at the Wendell, NC location a minimum of 3 days per week.Legally authorized to work in the United States on a continual and permanent basis without company sponsorship.Preferred Qualifications:Graduate degree in Electrical Engineering or a related field.Proficiency in design software (e.g., NX, Teamcenter).Experience designing power distribution equipment, including switch devices, switchgear, and circuit breakers.Experience leading teams, inspiring collaboration, and driving innovation.Skilled in working on complex projects both independently and collaboratively with cross‑functional teams.Ability to convey technical information effectively to both technical and non‑technical stakeholders across cross‑functional teams.Passion for technology, sustainability, and creative solutions.Strong analytical and problem‑solving abilities for optimizing engineering designs.Commitment to quality and excellence in engineering designs.Knowledge of IEEE, ISO, UL, and other standards.About SiemensWe are a global technology company focused on industry, infrastructure, transport, and healthcare.
