Specialist Engineer, Protection and AutomationPosition Number: 506124Posting Date: 12-May-2026Company: Smart InfrastructureHours: Monday – Friday, 8:00 am to 5:00 pm, 40 Hours/WeekJob SummarySupport customers and the development of protection systems for generation, transmission, distribution, and industrial plants including Siemens SIPROTEC 5 protection portfolio and legacy such as SIPROTEC 2/3, SIPROTEC 4, and REYROLLE product line. Support internal and external customers on level 3 support using advanced diagnostic tool (DLA) to provide accurate and fast resolution to product issues. Lead system development based on schematics, signal list protocol, and further documentation. Configure, test and commission SIPROTEC relays to protection and control systems for power substation. Lead Factory Acceptance Tests (FAT) and Site Acceptance Tests (SAT) on protection and automation. Develop customized logics on customer applications using DIGSI software. Troubleshoot on SIPROTEC relays, IEC61850 communication protocol, and process bus technology using Siemens engineering tools such as Digsi, IEC 61850 System Configurator, Siprotec tool and DLA. Develop application and configuration notes, and work instructions for SIPROTEC relays. Provide technical support, commissioning, and after sales for all protection products at Energy Automation. Support sales area to elaborate service proposals. Prepare and write test procedures to FAT, SAT, and technical reports. Parameterize and commission protection systems with Siprotec 5, Siprotec 4, Siprotec 3, Siprotec 2 (Dosdigsi), Reyrolle, and communication protocols. Provide customer care for all Siprotec products, including advanced diagnostics and troubleshooting tools (DLA and HWTestMonitor). Travel 50% domestic required to customer sites for troubleshooting or commissioning/testing work. Hybrid work permitted.QualificationsBachelor's degree in Industrial Engineering, Electrical Engineering or related field and ten (10) years of experience in the field, or as an Electrical Engineer, After Sales Engineer, or an acceptable alternate occupation.Ten (10) years experience with Siemens software packages DIGSI 2, DIGSI 4, and DIGSI 5.Ten (10) years experience with fault analysis using Siemens software SIGRA.Three (3) years of experience with hardware test monitor.One (1) year of experience with Siemens Substation Automation Software package SICAM and Device Manager.One (1) year of experience with Process Bus Technology.Travel 50% domestic required to customer sites for troubleshooting or commissioning/testing work.
