Attendance Secretary

Canyon Ridge High School is seeking a dedicated and organized Attendance Secretary to join our administrative team. The ideal candidate will play a vital role in maintaining accurate attendance records, ensuring compliance with school policies, and supporting the overall functioning of the school environment. This full-time position requires strong communication skills, attention to detail, and the ability to work collaboratively with students, parents, and staff.

Responsibilities:

  • Manage daily attendance records, ensuring accuracy and compliance with district policies.
  • Communicate with parents and guardians regarding student absences and attendance issues.
  • Process attendance-related paperwork, including excuse notes and attendance reports.
  • Assist in the development and implementation of attendance policies and procedures.
  • Maintain confidential student records and ensure data integrity within the school's information systems.
  • Collaborate with teachers, counselors, and administration to address attendance concerns and support student success.
  • Prepare and distribute attendance reports for administrative review and state reporting requirements.
  • Respond to inquiries from parents, students, and staff regarding attendance policies and procedures.
  • Support the school's administrative team with various clerical tasks as needed.
  • Participate in staff meetings and professional development opportunities to enhance skills and knowledge.
  • Requirements:

    • High school diploma or equivalent; additional education or training in office administration is preferred.
    • Previous experience in a school setting or administrative role is highly desirable.
    • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite and experience with student information systems.
    • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
    • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
    • Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information with discretion.
    • Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to work effectively with diverse groups of people.
    • Ability to multitask and prioritize responsibilities in a fast-paced environment.
    • A commitment to fostering a positive and supportive school culture.

    This is an "at will" position in that the employer or employee may terminate employment at any time for any reason consistent with applicable state or federal law.
