Location 621 Washington St S,Suite 100,Twin Falls, ID, 83301,United StatesBase Pay $18.00 - $25.00 / HourEmployee Type Full Time Non-ExemptRequired Degree 2 Year DegreeDescriptionThe R&D Technician supports Canyonside Labs' Research and Development function, working closely with the Technical Director and cross-functional teams to formulate, test, and refine nutraceutical products from concept through production handoff. This role prepares and evaluates product samples, operates and maintains lab equipment, and compiles data that supports formulation decisions, product launches, and continuous improvement of existing products. Beyond the bench, the R&D Technician helps translate successful formulations into batch production records and supports Quality and Production teams as new products move into manufacturing.The ideal candidate is curious, detail-oriented, comfortable working in a fast-paced and changing environment, and effective working across a wide range of personalities and teams.RequirementsQUALIFICATIONS:A minimum of a 2-year degree in Chemistry, Food Science, or a closely related field preferred1–3 years of experience in a laboratory, R&D, or similar industry setting preferredFamiliarity with industry terminology and scientific techniques used in a laboratory environmentExperience in a regulated environment (nutraceutical, food, pharmaceutical, or similar) preferred, including cGMP environment controlsUnderstanding of Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), FDA regulations, and Current Good Manufacturing Practices (cGMPs)Ability to work in a fast-paced, changing, and challenging environmentAbility to organize and prioritize a variety of tasks and projects, and work within deadlinesComfortable working with ERP/MRP systems and Microsoft ExcelSKILLS:Strong writing skills and ability to keep clear, accurate written and digital recordsHigh level of integrity and strong work ethic, with the ability to learn quickly and follow instructions learned in trainingStrong interpersonal skills, hands-on attitude, and willingness to learn and contribute to task objectivesDemonstrated ability to multi-task and work effectively within a diverse, cross-functional team environmentProblem solving and root cause analysisDUTIES:Formulation and Testing:Assist in the preparing and evaluating product samplesTest materials for conformance to specificationFollow standardized formulas or experimental proceduresPerform research, data gathering, charting, analysis, and recording to support formulation workLab Operations and Equipment:Maintain, operate, and calibrate laboratory equipment with accurate recordkeepingUse lab equipment to test materials and create lab batches of productsCompliance and Documentation:Adhere to health and safety, laboratory, and GMP guidelinesAssist in the creation of batch production records with operating instructionsMaintain accurate, complete, and audit-ready documentationFollow Good Documentation Practices (GDP) at all timesSupport CI initiatives to improve R&D and Sales productivity, formulation and pricing turnaround times, and costIdentify and help eliminate waste, bottlenecks, and recurring quality or productivity issues in formulationsCross-Functional Coordination:Cross-train with the Quality team to assist the quality department when neededCommunicate and resolve formulation risks with R&D and OperationsWork closely with Production and Quality to support efficient, compliant product launchesOther duties as assigned by the Technical Director#J-18808-Ljbffr
