ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONSCleaning, sanitizing, and polishing bath, lavatory, shower, and sink fixturesDusting, washing and sponge moppingSanitizing and shampooing furniture, woodwork, walls, windows, and glass itemsCleaning shades and covers on light fixturesReplacing light bulbsRemoving waste and debris from areasSweeping, vacuuming, and shampooing carpetStripping, waxing, and buffing tile floorsMoving furnitureAny other activity necessary to keep the building cleanRequires some knowledge of: methods, materials, and equipment used in light- and heavy-duty custodial work; custodial safety practices; and cleaning agents and related products and their possible reactions. May be required to possess valid driver's license.Must be able to:Use sound judgment to deal effectively with problems. Adapt, with minimal or no advance notice, to changes in how business is conducted and work is accomplished.Apply common sense understanding to carry out tasks.
