Job Description Medical Transcriptionist - medicalassistant documentation healthcare ophthalmology retina coding scribe n n Grassi Retina is looking for an experienced Medical Transcriptionist to join our team. We're seeking a highly professional and team-oriented individual to create and maintain high quality patient Electronic Medical Records. While experience as a medical scribe or transcriptionist is preferred, we will train the right person! n n This Position Will Be : n n Full-time and hourly n Up to 40 hours a week n As an important part of our team, this position will be on-site only - no remote work n n n Responsibilities : n n Prepare new and existing patients' charts (electronic medical records) in advance of their appointments for our clinical team n Obtain medical records and any other information needed and enter into electronic health record (EHR) e.g. referring doctor's notes, open referrals, MRIs, labs, etc. n Send our chart notes/summaries/letters to other doctors n Coordinate and execute our physician's orders for all necessary tests, labs, imaging and electronic prescriptions n Ensure payers' quality measures are documented in EHR (we will train) n Review and edit coding for medical visit (with coder/biller) (we will train) n Transcribe medical reports, letters, documents and dictation from our physician using appropriate medical terminology and spelling into EHR (we will train) n Confirm correct scheduling of follow-up appointment and activities n Scribe in-room for physician as needed during patient encounters n Document various patient communications in EHR as needed n Other office duties as needed (will train) n n n Qualifications Required: n n Must be able to work on-site, at least five days a week n Must have a minimum of 1-2 years experience in a healthcare setting, preferably a medical office. Although experience is preferred, we will train the right person. If this sounds like a job you would excel at, don't be afraid to apply! n Associate's Degree/Certification required n Must be proficient in most medical terminology, anatomy and physiology (we will train retina-specific; though, previous eye experience is a plus!) n Must live within 25 miles of our office in Naperville, IL n Must be highly computer-literate, with a strong command of document and email platforms.
