MISDEMEANOR PROBATION OFFICER
Jerome County Misdemeanor Probation is seeking a Male Adult Probation Officer. Salary, D.O.E. and full benefits offered. Responsibilities include: carrying a case load of adjudicated adult misdemeanor offenders; preparing reports; attending court; working with other agencies, to include prosecutor’s office, law enforcement, treatment provider’s and probation officer’s throughout the state; administer drug and alcohol testing; must carry a firearm and maintain qualifications; conduct field visits; additional duties include assisting other officers and staff when needed and will attend training's when offered and required.
Graduation from an accredited college with a Bachelor’s Degree in Social Sciences, Criminal Justice or equivalent training or job experience in the field of adult probation. Requires a valid and current Idaho driver’s license and successful completion of an Idaho State Department of Motor Vehicles driving record check. Must successfully complete a background investigation through the National Crime Information Center (NCIC). Also, within one year of hire, all new Probation Officers shall attend and successfully complete the Idaho Probation Officer P.O.S.T. Academy. While at P.O.S.T., the Probation Officer will sign a two-year agreement which states that he/she will continue working in the probation field in Idaho for two years or may be subject to reimbursement of the costs of P.O.S.T. training. Ability to speak Spanish would be a plus but not required.
