POSITION: Part-time Airport Custodian, with prorated benefits
WORK SCHEDULE: Friday and Saturday from 3:00 p.m. – 1:00 a.m., 20 hours a week
EFFECTIVE DATE: Upon Selection
EXPECTED STARTING HOURLY RANGE: $15.46 - $18.56
GENERAL DESCRIPTION OF WORK: Under the direction of the Airport Operations Supervisor, this position is responsible for routine custodial and cleaning tasks of the Airport terminal and maintenance buildings. Duties include removing trash, vacuuming, dusting, cleaning, stocking restrooms and performing other various facility-related duties as assigned. The custodians work in conjunction with the maintenance staff to meet the regular operational maintenance requirements of the airport terminal. The custodians will need to assist with security of the facility, and be responsible for inclement weather notifications.
The successful candidate must have the ability to understand and follow oral and written instructions; communicate effectively verbally and in writing; be in sufficient physical condition to perform the duties of the position; observe proper safety precautions; work independently and to exercise good judgment; maintain cooperative working relationships; and deal with the public in a manner that promotes good customer service.
QUALIFICATIONS: Graduation from high school or GED equivalent required; valid driver’s license; one year of custodial or maintenance experience; and basic familiarity with various materials, methods and equipment related to cleaning and maintaining public buildings.
