BI-WEEKLY SALARY RANGE: $1,654 - $1,985 Grade: 8 Non-Exempt

GENERAL STATEMENT OF DUTIES: Under the direction of the Maintenance Shop Supervisor, the primary responsibilities include the repair and maintenance of City owned vehicles, primarily medium trucks, and light & heavy equipment.
Technical Work 70%
Other duties 30%
QUALIFICATIONS: High school diploma or GED equivalency; a Valid Driver’s License; and demonstrated experience as a technician performing heavy equipment and vehicle maintenance or repair is preferred. Qualifying experience should include knowledge of general mechanical practices and techniques; knowledge of heating/air conditioning, electrical and hydraulic systems, technical manuals, and computer diagnostic tools; a commitment to work and operate equipment safely; and a history of good customer service.
Preference will be given to applicants that have a minimum of five (5) years of related work experience; industry certification (A.S.E. or similar); demonstrated experience in diesel mechanics as well as medium to heavy trucks and large construction equipment.
The applicant selected for hire must be able to obtain a Class A Commercial Driver’s License within six-months of hire. And must possess sufficient physical condition to meet the demands of the job which include lifting and/or moving equipment parts up to 50-75 pounds and working both inside and in outside weather conditions.
