POSITION: Lifeguard/Swim Instructor
EFFECTIVE: Immediately upon selection
HOURLY WAGE: $11.00-$13.00 while guarding & $16.00 when teaching lessons
JOB DUTIES: Under the general direction of the Aquatics Supervisor, the lifeguard is responsible for providing and maintaining a safe pool environment for all participants. This requires both proactive actions that will prevent accidents as well as appropriate reactive actions should an incident occur.
While teaching swim lessons, instructors teach different swim techniques to help participants become safer in, on, and around the water. They also assist swimmers become more experienced in the water, allowing them to experience swim team or other advanced aquatic activities.
Employees are needed for a variety of shifts available during the following days;
QUALIFICATIONS: Applicants must be 16 years of age. Must be able to work independently and to exercise good judgment and to maintain cooperative working relationships and deal with the public in a manner that promotes good customer service. Higher pay rate for individuals that are certified lifeguards/WSI and have experience. Lifeguard & Water Safety Instructor Certifications are not required to apply. Those that are not certified will be able to take the lifeguard & WSI training at no additional cost. Swim team experience is a plus.
