The Water Distribution Department has an opening for a Water Operator whose duties include maintaining the City’s water service activities including service requests, metering, water sampling on new mains and hydrant and valve maintenance. The nature of the work requires some previous training or experience to operate specialized equipment, while many of the job functions are learned on-the-job. The work schedule for this position is Monday – Thursday 7:00am – 5:00pm

Applicants must have a high school diploma or equivalent (GED) and a valid driver's license. Skill and experience in the operation of various types of heavy equipment; ability to use standard office computer programs; sufficient physical condition to meet the demands of the job, lifting and/or moving up to 100 pounds; good driving record, and the ability to work and operate equipment safely. Applicants must reside within 15 miles of the City of Twin Falls within the first year of hire. While performing the duties of this job, the employee regularly works in an outdoor environment that may involve adverse weather conditions and related hazards.
In addition, the employee must have or obtain a Class "A" C.D.L. with tanker endorsement within 120 days of hire; be licensed or begin working towards the Operator-In-Training (OIT) license in preparation for the first available test date after hire; and obtain license as a Class I Water Operator within one year from that date.
Final applicants under consideration for the position will undergo a pre-employment drug screen and a background check which includes a review of both criminal and driving records.
Hiring Salary Range: $19.34 – $23.21
