BI-WEEKLY SALARY RANGE: $3,108.80 - $3,730.40

GENERAL STATEMENT OF DUTIES: The principal function of an employee in this class is to prosecute misdemeanor cases in Twin Falls and provide legal training for the Police Department. The person in this position readily interacts with other city employees and external agencies to provide legal advice and counsel. Positions in this class perform duties within a general scope of responsibilities, may advise higher management on functional needs, and assist in the development of policies and procedures. The principal duties of the position are performed in a general office environment. Alternative work schedule available with every other Friday off.
QUALIFICATIONS: A Juris Doctorate degree from an accredited law school; licensed with the Idaho State Bar; and a preferred minimum of one year of courtroom experience in either a criminal or civil context. Applicants should possess a work history which demonstrates strong organizational skills; an above average ability to prepare excellent written and oral communications; initiative and confidentiality; the ability to use good time management skills; strong interpersonal skills; effective public speaking; proficiency in legal research and writing; ability to interpret various statutes and code sections; understanding of relevant case law; an attitude of cooperation and the ability to work harmoniously with all levels of City employees, the general public and other organizations.
Final applicants must be able to successfully pass a City of Twin Falls background investigation which may include a polygraph examination. Successful completion of reference checks, driving record check, education verification and a criminal history check are also required.
